Community Action Marin makes it possible for people in Marin to achieve well-being by providing the vital services they need. Together, we break down the barriers that get in the way of fair and lasting change in service to better outcomes for all. With the continued impact of the pandemic, we strive to meet the needs of community by preventing homelessness, ensuring healthy meals, educating preschoolers of essential workers, offering cash assistance, providing emotional support, and helping people to achieve well-being.
We are a community action agency dedicated to the fight against poverty. The array of services we provide promote racial and economic equity by addressing the real and varied needs of individuals and families who lack the income to be self-sufficient. For almost a third of Marin residents, just meeting basic needs means living paycheck to paycheck. With no savings to fall back on to fix a car, recuperate from illness or accidents, or find new housing or work, many are forced to make difficult choices—sometimes between putting food on the table for their families or paying rent.
